1. COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course covers all aspects of e-Business or e-commerce, design of e-business models, planning and integration, basic knowledge’s on security issues of e-commerce and/or e-business. Additional cases are used to describe in the right light the e-business opportunities and management, by using examples from e-commerce implementations in Macedonia and world wide.

 

2. COURSE STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES

Successful completion of this course should enable a student to:

  1. Understand the difference between e-business and e-commerce,
  2. Make sense of e-business opportunities in real world, by describing, analyzing and evaluating business models of implemented cases,
  3. Identify the major categories and trends of e-business/e-commerce applications
  4. Explain the importance of Web technology within today’s corporations and online based businesses,
  5. Understand and explain the basic frameworks for effective management of e-business solutions,
  6. Identify the management issues in e-business and/or e-commerce strategic planning,
  7. Discuss  and evaluate strategies for the development and management of e-business or/and e-commerce solutions,
  8. Analyze a given business in order to detect the main factors (intern and extern) which can be modified in order to move forward to an e-business model,
  9. Be aware that today having a good IT infrastructure is not everything without having a clear business objective, vision and mission.

7. FORMAT OF CLASS SESSIONS

Since the course will be held as an independent Study, in general each session will consist of:

  • discussion of assigned reading and end of chapter questions
  • lecture on topics related to that session
  • discussion of case studies

 

8. COURSE ASSIGNEMENTS

In addition to the assigned text reading, students are required to analyze each week case studies (described in the text as case studies) and answer all the questions at the end of the chapter. Students should prepare themselves each week to explain the conclusions of their analyses and, if required, to hand in written analyses.
